How can you become a successful hypnotist?
When you start your hypnosis experience, it is important to have confidence in your power. If you are skeptic and engage in the hypnosis practice with high reservation and suspicion about the value of hypnosis treatment, then you will not have a positive attitude during your hypnosis work.
Also having too much or too little confidence will make you weak with the relationship with the client.
There are some characteristics for being effective hypnotherapist. Here are them:
1- Convince your client that he wants to be hypnotized. You can not hypnotize someone if he doesn’t want to be hypnotized (except covert hypnosis), so give him the reason for being hypnotized.
2- Build up confidence in your client and be friendly. If your client does not trust you, then probably he will not follow your suggestions.
3- Encounter each client as a unique individual. The level of hypnotism changes from person to person. Keep in mind that everybody has his unique problems although most of them can be categorized.
4- Be perceptive of the client’s emotional needs and deal with the emotional displays happen during the treatment.
5- Make your environment relaxed and calm with soft colors, soothing music etc. This will help your client to completely focus on suggestions.
6- Identify problem areas, their severity and determine the type of induction techniques;
7- Focus on the goals of hypnotic induction. Calm and relax your subject to help him focus on your suggestions and eliminate all his problems and worries.
